Crafty Fremonters looking for a
place where they can work on their scrapbooking and card-making talents now
have another location dedicated to their craft. Robin Lallman opened Robin’s
Crafty Resort at 1730 W. 23rd St. in Fremont. Lallman said the store offers
everything imaginable for scrapbook enthusiasts: Stickers, embellishment, a
wide variety of card stocks and papers, beads, ribbons, Cricut products, paper
punches, ink cartridges and pads and embossing machines. “We have just about everything
you would need to get started in scrapbooking,” she said. Lallman said she’s been doing
scrapbooking for about 15 to 20 years, but there hasn’t been a many places in
Fremont for people to work on their scrapbooking and get unique materials. She said he hopes Robin’s Crafty
Resort can fill that role. In addition to offering
scrapbooking and card-making materials, Lallman said the shop will offer both
scrapbooking and card-making classes to individuals interested in getting
started. She hopes to offer weekly classes. A separate classroom space in her
shop can accommodate 12 students at a time. She said the classroom will also be
used for private parties and birthday parties. Additionally, Lallman said, her
shop is going to offer memberships. Members will be able to come out to the
shop with their own materials and use the equipment to work on their
scrapbooking projects. The classroom will be available
to members anytime the shop is open and there is not a class going on. Lallman said she’s wanted to
start a scrapbooking business for a long time -- all the equipment in the
classroom came from her home -- but it wasn’t until recently she decided to
take the plunge and become a small business owner. “I’ve always wanted to have a
scrapbooking store. I always thought it would be kind of neat,” she said.
"I kind of started doing it at home and then got more things and just
decided to expand and teach people some things. “Starting a business is kind of
scary,” Lallman added. “But I think we’ll be OK.” Robin’s Crafty Resort is open Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, 10
a.m.- 6 p.m.,Thur 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. The store is closed Sunday and Wednesday.
